Tuber Brumale vittadini is a widely spread truffle variety throughout France, Italy and the Balkans and relatively small sized truffle.
It is a very adaptable truffle to the various soil compositions and prefers high moisture levels and clay soils.
It has a characteristic sweet and pleasant smell.
The flesh of the truffle (gleba) has a deep brown reddish or greyish color with fairly wide and few whitish veins while the external part (peridio) - black coloured with reddish to purple shades when not completely mature is fully covered with pyramidic warts slightly rising from the surface - fairly smooth and loosely attached to the gleba.
